As many of you know, my educational philosophy is basically to figure out what is best for each child through inspiration, love and diligence. This past year we had to of our children in the local charter school, one doing school online, and the oldest doing half online and half in a high school program with the local college that offers college credit.
This school year our oldest continues in that program and our next four children are all going to the charter school. We love that school! It is Montessori with a free and fun environment. Each of the kids enjoys going and they are very happy.
We still do music lessons, but we have cut back on our other activities so that our lives are not so crazy. I have been teaching more classes on essential oils and so it has been good to simplify. I have my two babies at home, boys ages 2 and 4. I must also admit that I have a helper that drives the kids around and prepares food in our home. This enables me to do more of the things that I want to do right now.
My husband and I have been talking about next year. We want to scale back on the things we are each personally doing so that perhaps we can homeschool most of the kids again. We tend to do things seasonally and enjoy that. We are wanting to connect with our kids again in a different way by having them home, traveling, and reading some good, core books together.
Because I am focusing more on sharing messages of good health and empowering families with natural tools, I am going to be scaling back on this category for a while. A girl can only do so much 🙂
