This berry smoothie tastes amazing! I originally got this recipe online and have amended it to my own taste. We drink it every day! It is packed with antioxidants, along with several servings of fruits and vegetables. You will love it!
Best Berry Smoothie Recipe
1 cup pure water
1 C yogurt (or milk or more water)
1 large carrot, cleaned and cut into chunks or six baby carrots
1/4 medium beet, raw, scrubbed clean
1/4 C cashews, raw
1/4 C raisins, Organic or unsulfured if possible
1/2 tsp Vanilla powder or liquid extract
10 Frozen strawberries Or 2 cups blueberries
2 TB Ground flax seed
1/4 tsp stevia powder (I use Kal Pure Stevia Extract Powder)
Blend all ingredients except for strawberries and flax in blender on high. Add strawberries and blend for one minute. Add flax last and blend for a few seconds. Recipe yields about 2 1/2 C., so 1 large serving, or 2 small servings.
Organic berries are very expensive, but conventional berries can have high amounts of pesticides. I purchased my berries from Azurestandard.com because the price is good and although they are not organic, the company does not use pesticides. Costco also carries organic berries sometimes at a better price than the grocery store.
We actually drink 1-2 smoothies a day. Here is the recipe for our afternoon “Fruit Drink: Power Nutrition in a Cup” that we enjoy every day at 3pm!
